Duties and Responsibilities Review and/or assist in the preparation of the income and excise tax responsibilities of a group of Tax Analysts and the reporting of tax related information for various mutual funds. Key Functions:
Review and/or assist in the preparation of income and excise tax provisions and tax information for quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial reports
Review and/or assist in the preparation of tax filings (extensions, federal income and excise and State tax filings)
Review and/or assist in the preparation of calendar year mutual fund tax information for shareholder tax reporting
Review and/or assist in the preparation of ASC 740-10 (Uncertain Tax Positions) documentation and ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) documentation and footnote
Review and/or assist in the calculation of periodic and annual income and capital gain distributions and review of dividend memos
Coordinate the tax provisions and tax filings with the mutual fund s auditors
Maintain working relationships with the mutual fund clients and the mutual fund s auditors
Participate in developing policies and procedures that are in compliance with mutual fund tax administration rules
Participate in the training and development of Tax Administrators
Minimum Requirements Education : A Bachelor’s Degree Experience: Six years or more of mutual fund tax administration or combined mutual fund tax administration experience and/or public accounting tax and/or corporate or partnership tax experience.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
Significant knowledge and understanding of mutual fund tax and security tax rules
Demonstrated leadership skills
Superior organizational skills and attention to details
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to take initiative to perform in a highly structured deadline driven environment
Ability to work independently while simultaneously handling different responsibilities with various deadlines
Proficient in Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred Knowledge and Skills A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
