UMB Bank DevOps Engineer II in Kansas City, Missouri

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with IT resources to deploy and support UMB Healthcare Services applications and systems, including third party and internally developed applications based on n-Tier application stack.

  • Coordinate IT resources such as database, systems, network, infrastructure and security administrators.

  • Help triage and coordinate troubleshooting of application issues in environments.

  • Identify opportunities to improve availability, reliability, and performance of application infrastructure by staying current on technology and exploring new opportunities.

  • Mentor and Train new employees, document work, and follows UMB corporate, Healthcare Services department, and work center policies.

  • Work professionally with technology vendors in support of the Healthcare Services & UMB environment.

  • Required to work varied schedules, including on-call responsibilities.

  • Must be available via company cell-phone, personal mobile and/or e-mail as an escalation point 24x7 for all Priority related issues.

  • Abide by standard corporate IT practices with accountability to the IT Director driving and owning said practices

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Infrastructure elements in a n-Tier stack

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Internet fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, HTTP)

  • Demonstrated Windows Server administration skills

  • Demonstrated Microsoft tool set experience, IIS, TFS, Active Directory and Systems Center

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of design and develop advanced computing methods to better improve the UMB Healthcare Services computing experience

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects in regards to patches, software implementations and upgrades

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a variety of projects and incidents simultaneously

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all business areas and skill levels regarding technical issues

  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a team oriented environment

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of development methodology

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related curriculum and 4 years¿ experience in a technical role supporting n-Tier app infrastructure OR

  • 6 plus years¿ experience in a technical role supporting n-Tier app infrastructure

  • ITIL Foundations Certification

  • Experience working in an Agile / SCRUM environment

  • Applicable certifications and/or professional training including but not limited to Microsoft Stack Certifications including but not limited to: Infrastructure, Automation, and Cloud
