UMB Bank Operations Technician II in Kansas City, Missouri
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the production support activities on work shift in areas of processing, monitoring and data center operations.
Work with the Production Control Group, support all scheduling and change management activities.
Schedule workflow and ensure schedules are maintained.
Ensure department standards, procedures, and processes are followed.
Ensure adherence to service level agreements.
Provide input and recommendations regarding business continuance issues and improvements to the operations of systems and processes.
Provide guidance to group when problems occur and coordinate problem resolution activities.
Provide help to users concerning processing and problems.
Assign work to, instruct, and check the work of Operations Technicians.
Assist in the training of Operations Technicians in all functional work areas of Operations Support.
Monitor processing issue resolution activities to ensure completion in a satisfactory and timely manner raising awareness of the issue when not.
Assist in ensuring that policies and procedures are conveyed and explained to personnel.
Assist in the maintenance of processing and procedural manuals used by the department.
Ensure Incident Tickets are initiated and kept updated, which provides an accurate description of any event that has affected the efficient operation of the Data Center.
Assist equipment vendors and technical services in the data-capturing procedures for hard-to-solve equipment and operating system problems anticipating problem avoidance steps when available.
Enforce all physical and logical security policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Working experience and understanding of production support, data center operations, processing scheduling and change management in mid to large data center environment
Working operational experience in two or more of the following operating environments (IBM Mainframe, UNIX, and NT)
Ability to thrive in an environment that is highly process driven
Written and interpersonal communications skills
Critical and analytical skills
Working operational experience in data communications

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Working experience and understanding of Data Center support environments (HVAC, Power, water)
Ability to follow and enforce the defined UMB Change Management practices
- Two (2) years Information Technology experience
Associate¿s degree in Computer Science
Prior processing, monitoring and data center operations preferred
